Pretty good selection of Japanese, British and Euro parts, with a few H-D piles if you lean that way. Within minutes I'd found what I was looking for.</div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br />

Here's my plan for getting through the long mountain winter:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirm9N6CD6dtrJPuHcE4BafbmzoIqIJIcreRF4EwnV7j_TG7H-ZS2gujJmXsNHJerW8kLGS_gZfQ_0EWR2pvJlrKe_cC7MPCb01ZQeGnxswwEDM3ZTCXGNgs190GvDaddTtvebOcU5uGKEB/s1600/dsc_0680.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="266" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEirm9N6CD6dtrJPuHcE4BafbmzoIqIJIcreRF4EwnV7j_TG7H-ZS2gujJmXsNHJerW8kLGS_gZfQ_0EWR2pvJlrKe_cC7MPCb01ZQeGnxswwEDM3ZTCXGNgs190GvDaddTtvebOcU5uGKEB/s400/dsc_0680.jpg" width="400" /></a></div><br />

This Saturday a buddy of mine and I lit out from Broomfield and headed up to Winter Park. Berthoud Pass is open, dry, and mostly free of gravel. Ready to ride.<br />

The race was sandy to say the least and the trails were brutal. This years adventure so to speak lead them throughout most of the original trails from the previous races with a few added "fun areas". <br />

There were added jumps this year to allow #2 to see if it could live up to the previous title that #747 held.<br />

What was genuinely moving, however, was the turnout of on-lookers, lined up along the highway and on overpasses the entirety of the journey. People were waving, carrying signs - I could feel a sincere outpouring of hope and love coming from every direction.<br /><br />God speed, Emily.<br clear="all" />Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7039270927530213793.post-31615802264352494362010-09-16T19:10:00.000-07:002010-09-16T19:23:18.164-07:00<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_FuTOcczit2U/TJLOnTCNMXI/AAAAAAAAAA4/2tj9Cviy368/s1600/Nbld2.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 290px; height: 320px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_FuTOcczit2U/TJLOnTCNMXI/AAAAAAAAAA4/2tj9Cviy368/s320/Nbld2.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5517699668002025842" border="0" /></a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_FuTOcczit2U/TJLOm74gIII/AAAAAAAAAAw/U7qO2BBR9mQ/s1600/Nbld.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 320px; height: 298px;" src="http://4.bp.blogspot.com/_FuTOcczit2U/TJLOm74gIII/AAAAAAAAAAw/U7qO2BBR9mQ/s320/Nbld.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5517699661787308162" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br />Montrose Local Racer Travis Newbold seen here at his last race of the season in Monte Vista CO at the WebeRacing.com Hare Scramble Series. Travis put on a major battle with Ian Blythe, Cody Schafer, Paul Luce, Kevin Johnson, Dustin Rushton, Shawn Kane, Tim Warner, Dirk Hale and Brett Pike. This was approximately an 8 mile loop with 6 major water crossings with anything from Sand to Mud to Boulders throughout the course. Travis seen here on the end of his 2nd lap in the water and the start of his 3rd lap in the sand gave it hell all day long. Travis put on a hell of a race all day and pushed hard to finish. This course was brutal to say the least and he was one of the only ones that would slam into the water crossings in the fashion you see in the upper picture to the left. For FTWCO I will get some more images up of Travis in other races to see more of him in action.<br /><br />Phil Lambert<br />Phil Lambert Photography.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7039270927530213793.post-7353560735694847432010-09-07T16:29:00.000-07:002010-09-07T16:32:55.616-07:00Might not want to ride up Boulder Canyon today.<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4nzWg4RK0uT3g3MbWVJ11dHYmnox8F9D3UrdQAkMV3Bsq8p2_1LblE_VzHN0Wra_2GdKCjYmZZd9xbiHhs2qyq_dIhyphenhyphenv2T1OIwT1NOFIg0uhRbQx7YbK19yWFtn374BFzkJYq0HXOGKKg/s1600/1078287231.jpg"><img style="float:left; margin:0 10px 10px 0;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 240px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi4nzWg4RK0uT3g3MbWVJ11dHYmnox8F9D3UrdQAkMV3Bsq8p2_1LblE_VzHN0Wra_2GdKCjYmZZd9xbiHhs2qyq_dIhyphenhyphenv2T1OIwT1NOFIg0uhRbQx7YbK19yWFtn374BFzkJYq0HXOGKKg/s320/1078287231.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5514318646471334706" /></a>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7039270927530213793.post-4084150978180604242010-07-31T16:10:00.001-07:002010-07-31T16:13:57.886-07:00Downtown Loveland<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjt4Anc5tT-ujncGpwqv8X9SFWUye3rH_kiN141TEwrLvOPOaqhAk6rUxihuXk5G1mGk-pX18jXDOmHLS4k0Q9gnl1yWyk5Z-ZNtgjZ88U6N8wvK7t87T4YIaHGdQt5wbK77LBSuo5vPkWt/s1600/Downtown.jpg"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 259px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjt4Anc5tT-ujncGpwqv8X9SFWUye3rH_kiN141TEwrLvOPOaqhAk6rUxihuXk5G1mGk-pX18jXDOmHLS4k0Q9gnl1yWyk5Z-ZNtgjZ88U6N8wvK7t87T4YIaHGdQt5wbK77LBSuo5vPkWt/s400/Downtown.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5500211887475311058" border="0" /></a><br /><br /><br /><a href="http://my68flh.com/">Electra Glide In Blue</a><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEMmmUSYtDGW3EykRmfmhg_58dl6GFqgLhyphenhyphencF49dMGBFJbt0FuA62w4ZAOlN4ZY6fxEJFNyZF0SZ736j87JcNOu6szTbBQIvKAzdnscxM-6L4qSx5n85n-K_0tZmytjOe0eo5c9kfb97-x/s1600/ElectraGlideInBlue.png"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 167px; height: 44px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhEMmmUSYtDGW3EykRmfmhg_58dl6GFqgLhyphenhyphencF49dMGBFJbt0FuA62w4ZAOlN4ZY6fxEJFNyZF0SZ736j87JcNOu6szTbBQIvKAzdnscxM-6L4qSx5n85n-K_0tZmytjOe0eo5c9kfb97-x/s400/ElectraGlideInBlue.png" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5500212289205438178" border="0" /></a>Electra Glide In Bluehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04100001217244278222noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7039270927530213793.post-40028582306695919572010-07-09T06:54:00.000-07:002010-07-09T07:13:02.854-07:004th Annunal Black Forest Poker RunIts that time of year again in the Black Forest of Colorado.<br />Except no imitation this is the real one!<br />Hosted by The Spirit Keeper Tavern 11627 Black Forest Road, Black Forest, Colorado Springs. Then again, we are talking about 431 miles of beautiful mountains and desert country, crossing five passes including the Great Divide.<br /></p><p>This run falls into a category I would call, "mini-vacation." While covering somewhere in the neighborhood of 950 miles, we were able to pull this off on a weekend, skipping out of only half a day of work on Friday. The miles go by quickly over an ever-changing landscape.</p><p>Fuel stops are plentiful enough that you don't have to worry about running out, even across the sparse San Luis valley. Our first stop was outside of Fairplay, and we didn't need to stop again until Center. The folks at the Center fuel station are friendly enough to spend a few minutes with. One mechanic on a break was particularly impressed with my Bonneville, as they don't see Triumphs come through very often.</p><p>We left 285 for 160 at Monte Vista heading west. Having left the city at around noon, we were riding into the sunset, which reduced visibility a bit. Fortunately it wasn't long before we were in the eastern shadow of the San Juans heading towards Wolf Creek Pass. If you've ever heard the song named for Wolf Creek Pass, you'll know what to expect. It's a stunning valley, tight twisties climbing to 10,863ft. Just watch that last 25mph turn - I'd take it at 15. </p><img src="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1361/4726493522_29ea4ca0bf_m.jpg" width="240" height="180" style="float:right" alt="Nathan at the cabin" /><p>We spent the first night at the Durango KOA. Say what you will about Kampgrounds of America, but I like'em. I've spent plenty of nights sleeping at primitive sites, but after a long day of riding, there's nothing wrong with having a cabin waiting for you.</p><p>The second day found us touring Mesa Verde. My wife and son had driven ahead to get the cabin ready and to join us for a day at the park. If you haven't been to Mesa Verde's cliff dwellings I'd highly recommend them. Just be aware that the first 15 miles into the park are currently under construction. The roads that haven't been reduced to gravel and dirt have had the asphalt surface scraped. Deep grooves and potholes make up much of the path into the park. After the guest center, however, the roads are brand new.</p><p>After spending half the day with the family and the ghosts of the ancients, we decided it was time to make the run to the Four Corners Monument. The monument lies outside of Cortez, about 40 miles into Ute Nation territory. There's not much going on in this corner of the reservation beyond a casino, and the highways are in varied degrees of maintenance.</p><p>It was hot and windy, as I imagine it must be in this part of the country most of the time. We rode on at a steady lean until we got to the gates of the park to find that it was closed!</p><br /><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/signal9/4726029570/" title="Damned thing was closed by adam.shamblin, on Flickr"><img style="float: left;" src="http://farm2.static.flickr.com/1425/4726029570_566187c59e.jpg" width="410" height="307" alt="Damned thing was closed" /></a>Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7039270927530213793.post-54154412914421746992010-06-30T19:07:00.000-07:002010-06-30T19:31:42.863-07:00Cool OffCool off in the foothills west of Loveland up at the WindJammer Road House. Parking is extra.<br /><br />Last year is was $8 bucks to park in the lot on Sunday. If you try to parking anywhere else I think you'll be towed.<br /><br />Good sites inside the complex. Plenty of parts and parts and.....bikes and walking till ya can't walk any more.<br /><br />You are bound to run into the people you only see once a year, at this show. And your bound to see some nice looking custom bikes in the bike show.<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://i574.photobucket.com/albums/ss187/my68flh/th_54941e83.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 107px; height: 160px;" src="http://i574.photobucket.com/albums/ss187/my68flh/th_54941e83.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /><br />And you might just run into me.
